Some Random Pictures...

The sunset, as viewed through the trees across from my house; weed growing in a stream by the sea at Morriscastle; and the hound expressing himself (he was fed up because I'd spent the whole day tiling our bathroom rather than bringing him for a walk). While I was cutting tiles outside a guy pulled up and offered to tarmac our (admittedly weed-strewn and potholed) driveway for E2,500 (reduced from E4,500!). Sadly, I don't have a spare E2,500 lying about. (Times must be hard, not to say desperate, if building contractors are going door-to-door to drum up business!) And because I'm too tired and lazy to write anything interesting, here's some fine music (it's Part 1 & 2 of the same performance, and if you want more, there's lots of footage from the same concert on YouTube):

I love your photos espceailly the weed.

Henry Cow were before my time but I did see Peter Blegvad perform with Robyn Hitchcock a few years ago.

Thanks, Jams. I love things like tangles of weed or briars, but it's hard to translate that fascination into satisfying photographic compositions. I took 35 photos of the weed, and this is the only one that's worth showing!
Henry Cow are before my time too! I was only three when this performance took place. But it's my kind of rock 'n' roll...

Great sky photo. Your tangle of weeds looked like a sausage-mixed-up-green-elongated-snake. But I love the color.
Everytime, I went to your post and saw your hound's face, I just burst out laughing out loud. It's a bit like he's saying: Come on. Life is short. Let's get moving. I have enough of this.

I can always count on you to surprise me with the videos. The musicians are re really out of space but enjoying themselves. On the 2nd one, whenever I thought they would finally get going, all together, they would revert to individual playing. The singer was in a transe...no, she was more in a rapture, then decided to join in at the end. Very, very interesting performance. Not really rock 'n' roll? So sad about Lindsay George.

Your photo of the Doubtful Hound made me laugh too. He simply will not accept your excuses! The weed is great. You know how some people chew on toothpicks or dangle them from their lower lips? That's what I thought of here, with the gaping ring & its appendage in the lower half of the photo.

Like you, I love taking photos of random aquatic vegetation but find that very few satisfactorily capture their whatever-they-have. Their chloroplastic colours look especially magical in the sun (and your capture nicely contradicts the Captcha request: "nosol"). I also like the bubble-foot, with its five bubble-toes, in the bottom right of the photo.

Claudia: The brief amount that I've heard of Henry Cow has always encouraged me to seek out more, but then I just forget to do so. This performance is pretty amazing, though ... I'm glad you find the doggie photo so amusing! He has the right attitude, I think!

Stan: I hadn't noticed the little foot (as a foot, that is)! I was lucky with the colour; the sun was hitting it at just the right angle. Glad you like the photos.

Thats a nice pic of your weed.Anywho..those blokes going around offering to tarmac your drive are a pack of pikey scumbags that have been up to that lark for years. You'll get about an inch of tarmac, your house burgled and your dog raped. Tell them to be off forthwith and never darken your door again.
